Check out who I met last night…

Look what I did today…

Now the question is: Do I do a half-marathon, or a full?  Right now I’m leaning towards the full, but have until the end of June before making a final decision.  Both plans are identical until week 10, and then they split.

Got a new pair of Newtons tonight.  After buying them I rushed home, put on my new shoes, and went out for a run.  Decided to try something different, and followed the instructions.  There is an instruction card in the box giving Newton’s 10 laws of running better.  #5 says to adapt slowly.  They recommend for the first two weeks to run a mile or so in the shoes a couple times a week.  So, that is what I did… I felt like I could run more, but stopped at a mile.  It is fun to get new running toys!

In other news… Slowly heading towards onderland.

I can’t help but to think posting these daily pics of my scale have kept me from falling off the wagon during this plateau.  There have been times I didn’t feel like posting my weight because I was frustrated with the progress.  But I did post it and kept going.
Last week I was feeling dejected by this plateau.  It seemed like I was making zero progress, and was wondering if it was worth all the effort.  I was beginning to think maybe 210 was the best I could accomplish.  At that point I took the time to look back at a post in early January.  This picture showed my weight at 220.  Then I looked back at a picture I took back in late October, and my weight was 240.
These two pictures put things into perspective.  I have come a long way in the past six months, and have really come a long way since last July.  I had become so wrapped up in my plateau… I couldn’t see the forest for the trees.
I now appreciate how far I have come and how close I am to reaching my goal.

Have you ever done this?

Had and epic running fail today.  At 2 miles I had to quit because my right calf was killing me.  Couldn’t figure out why, but it became apparent as soon as I got home.  I went to take off my shoes and saw this…

If you look closely you will see I ran with two different shoes.  Maybe this is why my calf hurt so bad.

AWESOME!

I’m stuck over here… Just have to not get discouraged & throw in the towel. it can be so easy to fall back on bad eating habits.
